I took this photo yesterday as the sun set over the mountain, showing a bright sun reflecting the colors of many bushfires that were ravaging nearby towns and forests. The day was the hottest on record for here, and the fires caused extensive loss of property and maybe at least one life. Residents in those affected areas ran for their lives to nearby beaches and rushed into the water to save themselves. Tourists and locals alike are now seeking shelter and waiting for help to arrive. Please spare a thought for those who have lost their homes, pets, farms and livelyhoods.

Thank you for your comment and concern. I am quite ok. Hobart has been covered by a huge blanket of smoke since Friday, and it is so sad to see so much devastation. I feel sad for those who have lost so much. I appreciate your comment.

Thank you so much for your concern. My family and home are safe, but the whole city of Hobart is covered by a heavy smoke cloud which is coming from two large bushfires. The fires have been catastophic in certain areas. Thank you for your comment on the photo.
